After reading the newspapers on how Singapore service industry line is faring now.. i seriously need to put in my own views here. After I had called in to HP service center.. i seriously tink Singapore should jus REVAMP the whole service industry line. Maybe sack all of them? Or send them all to Japan.. at least to see how the japanese serve their customers.
Scenario X:
-called in to HP at 11am-
me: hi, i want to find out how much do I have to pay for the laptop hinge as mine has cracked.
cs1: oh. call 6*******.
me: ok. What's the number again? -preparing to key into my hp-
cs1: 6****
me: ok, hold on.. -punch in numbers-
-Overheard cs1 saying: WAH LAO. STOP PRESSING LAH.-
me: ya. next.
cs1: (sounded shocked) ****
me: thanks. -slamed down phone-

-heard cs 2 and its a ah-nei-
me: hi. i want to find out how much do I have to pay for the laptop hinge as mine has cracked.
cs2: (in ah-nei accent) oh yeah. can u repeat?
me: -repeat qns-
cs2: oh mdm. you can bring down to the repair center. I can't tell u how much is it now.
me: ok.
cs2: Maybe i can help u look for the spare part number. please hold on.
me: ok. thanks
-taking a million yrs to find it-
cs2: mdm. the number is *****-??? (indian accent too strong)
me: Huh? what's ???
cs2: 011
me: oh okays.. thanks. How do i get to the repair center?
cs2: u can bring down ur laptop to the repair center.
me: I said, how to get to the repair center.
cs2: oh mdm, u can bring down ur laptop to the repair center.
me: NO! I said, how to get to get repair center.
cs2: Oh mdm. (blabber on with his indian accent) the nearest mrt is queenstown.
-fuming and irritated with such incompetent cs officer who can't understand and answer my simple qns-
me: OKAY NEVERMIND.
-slamed down phone-
whats the prob with my qns u tell me? Is my english to difficult to understand or what? I tink even a pri sch kid can understand my qns man. Its not the case on whether is it an ah-nei or a chinese. The prob is, whether did they put in the effort to help the customer.
I had worked in the customer service line b4 and i understand how some customer are- irritating and tot they are always rite. But when i call, i'm polite and i tink.. i dun deserve that kind of treatment in return.
Improvement in service industry i beeseeccchhhh u kind ladies and gentlemen out there. Of cos, the customers need to improve on their attitude as well. If u tink u are impatient and is emotional, dun work in the service line cos u will go mad one day.. trying to get back at every customer. Think abt it. Do u wan to receive those kind of treatment when lets say, u call in to XX Bank for enquiry? No rite? So, pls REFLECT on ur own attiude everyone.
